After studying at the University of Maine in Orono, Carrier hung on to his
university studio space until the local illustration market dulled his
senses. He headed for New York where his eye finds much to inspire in the
diversity of the population. "People," he says, "I came here for the
people. In Maine, there was one culture, white and French. I mean we have
a song there about dancing with a duck. In New York city we have every
kind of culture. I want to catch the power in their emotions." Tim's newly
re-energized muse is busy on two book illustration projects, his personal
work (including studies of urban faces) and a full-time job creating graphic
design for a web design firm.
