Oh boy, a contest!

Francis Dunnery:

Francis Dunnery "The Way Things Are"

Hey, kids! We've got 40 copies of Francis Dunnery's "The Way Things Are" to give away. To enter, all you have to do is tell us who the quotes below are attributed to. Sound tough? Well we've made it easy, you whiners! You'll find the quotes - and their sources - sprinkled throughout this issue of UD. Once you've found 'em all, come back here and tell us who said what.

On September 1st, we'll toss all the correct entries in a big electronic grab bag, and randomly choose 40 winners (enter as often as you like, but only one prize per customer please). In case you weren't paying attention, that means the deadline's 12:00am, August 31st! So get reading!

The noblest dog of all is the hot dog; it feeds the hand that bites it.
A dog's bark may be worse than his bite, but it's never quite so personal.
My little old dog:
A heart-beat At my feet.
Dogs read the world through their noses and write their history in urine.
If dogs could talk, it would take a lot of fun out of owning one.
If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.
My husband and I are either going to buy a dog or have a child. We can't decide whether to ruin our carpets or ruin our lives.
There are no one-night stands with a dog. Once you let your pet into your bed, it's hard to get him out.
