I was raised on a commune in Northern California and my parents were hippies, so it's a wonder I'm not named Leaf or Bohdi or something. I actually learned to play guitar in the plywood shack my family built with their very own sweat and toil, not to mention blood. Sometimes late at night when the rain poured down and I could hear our belongings being washed away I would think to myself, "Asheville, N.C. - wow, If I can make it there I can make it anywhere." Now I just think, "God ... this place is a kennel."
