Perhaps Jax should read up on twentieth-century history. I'd recommend Prague: In the Shadow of the Swastika, a new book by Jan Kaplan and Callum MacDonald. And a more detailed exploration of the decimation of the country's Jewish population under the fascists can be found in the old Jewish quarter. In this century, the pavements of this city have rung under two different incarnations of the jackboots Jacko fetishizes in his recent video. Such imagery won't endear him to the Czechs. The last dumbheads to attempt intimidating the Czechs with cult-of-personality idols -- the Soviets (who erected the world's largest statue of Stalin there in the 1950s) -- learned a bitter lesson; the citizens of Prague simply blew it off its pedestal in 1962.
If the Czechs have learned anything in surviving both the Nazis and the Soviets, it's to outlast the bastards. And that paper wraps stone. The Jackson posters, all around town the day I arrive are mostly plastered over 24 hours later.
